About Dipatina

Every chair carries a life before ours.

A sunlit vintage hallway with an ornate mirror and period furniture

Origins

A private pursuit, made public.

Dipatina began not as a business plan, but as a habit, travelling through Central European estate sales, ateliers, and family homes in search of chairs with real age and real character. What started as a personal collection has become a gallery, built on the same principle: buy only what deserves to be kept for another hundred years.

Philosophy

Patina is not a flaw. It is proof.

We do not restore pieces to look new. We restore them to be safe, stable, and honest, preserving the marks of use that make an antique what it is. A chair's wear is its biography, and we believe that history is part of its value, not something to be sanded away.

Curation

One piece at a time.

Every chair that enters the collection is chosen individually by hand, inspected for construction and joinery, and researched for provenance where possible. We would rather offer a small number of pieces we believe in completely than a large catalogue of anything available.

Promise

Transparency, always.

Where restoration work has been carried out, we say so plainly on the product page. Where a piece's exact origin cannot be verified beyond reasonable doubt, we describe it honestly. Trust is the only currency that matters in antiques, and we intend to keep it.
